About us
Twelve years of roofs, boreholes and warehouse rafters.
Wattfield Solar started in 2014 with two installers and one van, fitting domestic arrays around Worcestershire. We now run four install teams and an in-house design office, and we've commissioned more than 2,400 systems from 2 kWp bungalows to a 1.2 MWp ground-mount.
We subcontract scaffolding and nothing else. Design, electrical work, commissioning and aftercare are all done by people on our payroll, which is the only way we've found to keep the standard the same on the two-hundredth job as on the second.
History
How we got here
2014
Founded in Stourport-on-Severn. First 40 domestic installs completed with two engineers.
2016
MCS certification extended to battery storage. First 50 kWp commercial roof.
2018
Moved to the current unit; in-house design office opened.
2020
Lorentz partner accreditation; first agricultural pumping installs in mid-Wales.
2022
First megawatt-scale ground-mount commissioned in Lincolnshire.
2024
Nationwide coverage with regional install teams; 2,000th system commissioned.

What each badge actually means
Plenty of firms list these logos. Here's what they commit us to.
MCS certified
The Microgeneration Certification Scheme sets the installation and product standards for small-scale renewables in the UK. Only an MCS certificate lets you apply for the Smart Export Guarantee. Ours covers both solar PV and battery storage.
RECC member
The Renewable Energy Consumer Code governs how we sell: deposit protection, clear contracts, cooling-off rights and an independent dispute process if we get something wrong.
TrustMark registered
The government-endorsed quality scheme. It means our technical work, trading practice and customer service are audited by a scheme provider, not self-declared.
NICEIC approved contractor
Our electrical work is assessed annually against BS 7671. Every install leaves with an electrical installation certificate.
